Are you saying Harrington isn't good enough to make Columbus but is good enough to be claimed by another team ? |

There's president for this. Last year we saw it first hand with Clendening and to a lesser extent Warsofsky. It's why we traded Samuelsson. The BJ's defense isn't that good therefore it would take a rare situation for them to have a prospect that can't make the team but would get claimed off waivers but with a guy like Scott Harington I can totally see it. Don't get the sense he'll ever be more than a high end AHLer, and guys like that are exactly the kind of guys that claimed on the WW while they're still young |

I'm more curious how Columbus will handle their cap situation, Seth Jones and the expansion draft which all tie in together. The big 3 of Dubinsky, Clarkson and Hartnell
Literally going through all the team's cap situation, not many can handle taking those salaries. The ones that can wouldn't benefit unless something major goes with them and most of them have their own big RFAs to sign. Only possible team I could see is NJ, but why? |

how is columbus up against the cap? what the hell is going on because dont they have one of the lesser rosters in the league. theres a reason why this franchise has achieved so little and it starts at the top. |

Just curious, everything after that didn't make sense because I kept thinking president of what. |

I wish the Jackets selected him so that we don't have to listen to Chiarelli continue to say Pooljejarvey. |

Paul Berthelot: Trying to Understand the Blue Jackets Draft Day Picks and Trades
Trying to make sense of all the Blue Jackets moves over the draft weekend. - Paul Berthelot
Agreed with everything , even if I don't put too much stock in late round picks , there is still a due diligence I feel hasn't been done, I mean what are they trying to prove drafting these high risk players.
As for the Rychel trade , disgusting , he's 21 years of age with no leverage, did he have to fold and trade him for a top tier ahl defenseman who is likely to get claimed of waivers. And then I try to understand why he gave a ludicrous contract to Prout. |

Dubois is a nice prospect, but from a straight asset-management perspective I think CBJ missed the boat here.
Puljujarvi is a step above Dubois and had more hype and name recognition. If they weren't high on him, 29 other teams were. Should have drafted him and then spent the summer shopping him.
They could have returned a good young C and maybe dumped a contract at the same time.
Maybe Dubois ends up being the better player down the road, but right now they had a golden ticket in their hand, and tossed it in the gutter.
Kekalainen won't survive the season unless Dubois makes the team and they shock the world with an amazing start. I really liked him as a GM, but this weekend made me shake my head. He's bareley ahead of Jim Benning right now on my bad GM list. |

Kekalainen might know Pjuljarvi a lot more than us. Both are finnish and yet he chose not to pick him even though he was high on the ranks |

No we don't need everything, we need the players currently on the roster to play up to their capabilities to be a good team, along with a few young players moving up and taking spots away from veterans who need to go away.

Not true at all. They've got a pretty good pool of winger prospects, decent defensive prospects, and good goalies. The only thing they need are good center prospects. I was hoping we could get one in the Rychel trade, but I guess we needed a 5th round pick |

Jk, don't feed the troll ,besides , it's funny that Islander fans are chest pumping themselves all of sudden now that their team is competitive. |

I am excited for what Abramov brings though. He may be very undersized but the dude had a +36 last year and went 38-55-93 in 63 games and was +7 and 7-6-13 in 10 playoff games. That right there was a good pick in a draft of questionable decisions. |

I disagree. Maybe decent on D with Jones, Johnson and Murray but that's about it. Not much to fear offensively. No real defensive shutdown players and wildly inconsistent goaltending. You guys are in drafting "best player available mode" |
